Chess in Stockholm, club by club and board by board
Most chess in Stockholm happens in its clubs, which meet on weekday evenings in school dining halls, community houses and their own rooms. On Södermalm the federation's Schacksalongerna at Ringvägen hold several clubs, junior tournaments and weekend opens under one roof. Beyond the clubs there is a chess bar near Stureplan, a Sunday group and Saturday workshops at Kulturhuset on Sergels torg, boards in Kungsträdgården, and clubs from Södertälje to Norrtälje.

Chess960 at Stockholm clubs
Fischer Random, the other name of Chess960, turns up inside club programmes in Stockholm rather than as a standing evening of its own. Stockholms Schacksällskap lists a club championship in Fischer Random at seven minutes plus three seconds on a Tuesday in October 2026, Solna-Sundbyberg SS offered it as an option at a rapid training evening in Sundbyberg that same month, and Kungstornet reported a club tournament in Fischer random in April 2026. No regular Chess960 evening open to outsiders was found in the county.

How to read the cards
Every card is built from pages a reader can open for themselves: the Stockholm federation's club list and calendar, the Swedish federation's member register, the tournament server chess-results.com, the FIDE list of rated events and the clubs' own sites. A card shows how old its newest trace is and quotes what that trace says.
Cards are ordered by the date of their newest evidence, never by quality. A question no page answers is marked "not stated by sources". The status lines, the three source marks and the limits of the directory are set out on the page how the site is kept.
